I just want to thank you for your Report, and our subsequent telephone conversation yesterday. The Report is exactly what I was after, gets to the heart of the matter and details the information required to make a clear and informed decision. Too often you look at a report and it skirts around the real issues and purely focuses on the cosmetics, which is not what is required.

Mr. Hocking acted as expert witness for us in a complex and contentious trespass and boundary dispute case heard at Truro County Court. May I thank you for two first class surveys. The survey for ***** Cottage secured a 5k reduction in purchase…. and the flat in Marazion is having remedial works to roofing and guttering prior to purchase.

Richard Hocking’s work reflected a highly observant attitude and clarity of presentation. It neither exaggerated nor minimised practicalities of household maintenance and replacement in the future. Where he did not undertake full investigation of certain aspects, such as flooring joists beneath boards and carpets, he stated this overtly. He also assessed white goods & decorative materials in use about the property, including wall coverings which might lift plaster off if we redecorate. He bore in mind our family needs on arrival and recommended immediate action where appropriate, thus helping us prepare for any trades people and also reassuring us about the good condition of bathroom and kitchen. The firm was exceptionally prompt and responsive to the urgency of our commission.

We were delighted with the work you did and the way it was presented to us - it was really helpful to have the photos, particularly of the more inaccessible places, so we could see what was being referred to and understand the issues raised....
